Maurice Island : Located in Indian ocean east of Madagascar. It used to be a French colony until 1810 when the British took over. In 1920, Reza Shah, the founder of the Pahlavi dynasty was forced to resign and sent to exile in Maurice Island. Later he was transferred to Johannesburg where he died.
