Susangerd is a city in the Central District of Dasht-e Azadegan County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. Susangerd is located at a distance of 55 km to Ahvaz and 28 km to Bostan. The Carrhae River traverses north of the city and a branch of the river passes from the middle of Susangerd.
Susangerd came under Iraqi occupation during the Iran-Iran War but the city marked the bloodiest episodes of Iranian resistance against invasion.
