Bisotoun is the name of a famous historical place in Kermanshah placed on the list of world heritage committee especially because of the inscription on a rock from the Achaemenid king Dariush the Great. In that relief, the king had the narrative of his victories engraved in 521 B.C. Also called Behistun in some western texts, there's a legend in Shahnameh (Epic of Persian Kings) completed by great Iranian poet Ferdowsi in 1000 AD. It's an ancient love story about Farhad who dug the mountain for his love Shirin.
