    Ancient Iranian Senate during Parthian Empire, a royal representative body called the Mehestan that appointed officials and organized the judicial system. Mehestan was set as the royal council responsible with the political and judicial matters. Some Parthian and Sassanid rulers dissolved the Mehestan and tried to rule as tyrants which did not last long.
