Mohammad Ali Foroughi was dismissed from duty by Reza Shah after allegations that he was misusing his authority in favor of relatives. Before becoming prime minister, Foroughi had served as minister of foreign affairs and later as minister in charge of economy. 6 years later Foroughi played a significant role in toppling Reza Shah, an event after which the Shah was sent to exile in the Maurice Island. Foroughi died 15 months after Iran surrendered to the Allied Powers on Nov, 26, 1942.
