    Alavian Dynasty was founded by Hasan Bin Zeyd in Tabarestan around 250 LH. After defeating rulers of the Taherian Dynasty, they supported the Deylamian and Espahbodan. They set mountains of Sari as their base. After that the Zeydiyeh Imamate based on Shia Sharia became dominant over Tabarestan. Hasan Bin Zeyd then took Rhagae and Gorgan under control and repelled Russian pirates that ravaged villages on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Hasan Bin Zeyd died in 271 LH and his brother Mohammad Bin Zeyd succeeded him.Mohammad Bin Zeyd was killed in a battle against Ismail Bin Ahmad of Samanian Dynasty on Oct, 8, 900 AD near Gonbad Kavoos.
