    -Ashur Uballit 1 (reigned 1364/65-1328/30 B.C.), Ashur Uballit was the Assyrian king during Mesopotamia’s feudal age who freed Assyria from the Arian Mitanni, with help of the Hittites; by defeating Shuttarna II. He created the first Assyrian empire and his reign marks the beginning of the Middle Assyrian period (14th to 12th century B.C.).Ashur Uballit 1 allied with the Kassite successors in Babylonia and established Kurigalzu II on the Babylonian throne. Ashur Uballit ended Hittite and Hurrian rule. By intermarriage he then influenced the Kassite.Ashur Uballit started to make contacts with other great nations and entered an alliance with Babylonian ruler Burnaburiash who marred the daughter of the Assyrian king. After the death of Burnaburiash, his son Kara Hardash from his Assyrian wife ascended the throne, but a revolt soon broke out Kara Hardash was killed. Consequently war broke out between the two empires.
