Bahram I Becomes King

After Hormazd I, Bahram I (273-276) also son of Shapour I becomes the new Sassanid king. In 276 prophet Mani, the founder of Manichaeism was brutally killed after prosecution. His body was filled with hay and his body was hung by one of the gates of Gondishapour. The gate became famous as Mani's gate. (Updated: Feb, 4, 2008)
