Failed Attempts To Revive Sassanid Dynasty
Mar, 24, 721 AD
Ushan, a Sassanid prince declared himself the king a century after Arab invasion. He managed to gather some followers around himself but could not succeed in creating a powerful army. 4 years later in March 725 another Sassanid prince Khosrau, one of grandsons of Yazdgerd III proclaims kingdom. He also managed to find followers from Turkish migrants but could not achieve much due to the fact that they could not unite rival forces. Such uprisings took place constantly in Iran during occupation but those lacking true sense of patriotism and a leadership based on personal rather than national benefits could not survive.
