Earthquake Destroys Neishabour

Neishabour: the Mausoleum of Attar Neishabouri, a prominent poet whose works became basis for Sufism. Attar lands of love are: Quest, Love, Understanding, Independence and Detachment, Unity, Astonishment and Bewilderment, Deprivation and DeathA very strong earthquake jolts the historical city of Neishabour and destroys it totally leaving many dead and wounded. The city was rebuilt in three years. Neishabour a city known for being the birthplace of Omar Khayyam became a very important city during the Sassanid era. Neishabour once became Iran's capital. It's also the same city where Taher Zolyaminein declared independence that gradually weakened Arab dominance in Iran. (Updated: Dec, 5, 2007)
